Special Education Teacher - Overland Park, Kansas

Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Valid Kansas Special Education teaching license (must be current; provide a copy upon offer)
- Experience working with K-12 students in resource, self-contained, or specialized classroom settings
- Strong collaboration and communication skills to partner with faculty, staff, and families
- Flexibility, compassion, and adaptability to meet varying student needs
- Previous exposure to Life Skills, Autism, Medically Fragile, or SLC/SAILS classrooms preferred
- Ability to manage caseloads of 8-18 students, differentiated by assignment
Responsibilities & Duties:
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to student needs
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom climate
- Collaborate with other educators and related service providers to ensure continuity of services
- Track student progress and communicate growth or concerns proactively
- Adapt instruction and materials to accommodate diverse learning needs
- Participate in staff meetings, IEP meetings, and professional development as required
