This onsite position is located near Overland Park, KS, and focuses on secondary grades (6th-12th).
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Low Incidence Special Education license for grades 6-12 is required
- Previous experience working as a Special Education Teacher in a school setting
- Deep understanding of individualized educational programs (IEPs)
- Ability to collaborate effectively with multi-disciplinary teams, parents, and administrators
- Strong organizational, communication, and classroom management skills
- Flexibility and creativity in adapting instruction for varied student abilities
Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and differentiated instruction tailored to students with low incidence disabilities
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs to ensure student progress and compliance
- Maintain accurate documentation and participate in IEP meetings and case conferences
- Communicate regularly with families, offering support and updates regarding student development
- Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to encourage inclusion and effective classroom practices
- Foster a positive, supportive, and structured classroom environment
Position Details:
- Full-time schedule, 37.5 hours per week
- Primarily onsite presence is preferred to provide direct support to students and staff
