Special Education Teacher in Pawtucket, RI

Qualifications:
- Active Special Education license from the Rhode Island Department of Education for Early Childhood, Elementary, or Secondary levels.
- Ability to meet Rhode Island’s Right to Read Act: Either already structured literacy proficient or willing to achieve proficiency within one year of hire.
- Experience supporting elementary-aged children with mild-to-moderate or more intensive disabilities in resource/inclusion or self-contained settings.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized and small group instruction to students with IEPs, adapting lessons to meet each learner’s unique needs.
- Support students in accessing the general curriculum, either within inclusion/resource roles or specialized self-contained classrooms.
- Work closely with general education teachers, support staff, and families to create and implement effective instructional strategies.
- Maintain accurate documentation, progress monitoring, and IEP compliance.
- Foster a supportive and engaging classroom atmosphere focused on student growth.
