Key Qualifications:
- Valid certification as a Special Education Teacher
- Experience working with students with behavioral challenges, especially in middle school settings
- Demonstrated knowledge of IEP processes, progress monitoring, and adapting curriculum to individual learning needs
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to foster a positive, inclusive classroom culture
- Passion for student advocacy and the ability to collaborate with families and multidisciplinary teams
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction to students with behavioral needs in grades 6-8
- Develop, implement, and modify Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and administrators to tailor academic and behavioral interventions
- Utilize a variety of strategies and tools to enable student growth, academic achievement, and social-emotional development
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to regular progress reports
- Facilitate a safe, respectful, and supportive classroom environment
