This onsite, full-time contract offers the opportunity to create meaningful impact across multiple schools, with a focus on life skills, transition programs, functional academics, and structured intensive support classrooms.
You’ll deliver high-quality instruction and support to students enrolled in a variety of programs—including Inclusion/SUCCESS, Practical Skills, CBT (life skills/transition), and STRIVE (self-contained behavior, autism, and intensive support). Positions are available for educators with diverse special education specialties, and placements will prioritize proximity to Fairfax, Central, and Hayden campuses.
Qualifications:
- Current standard Arizona secondary teaching license
- Valid K-12 Special Education certificate
- IVP fingerprint clearance card
- Experience with emotional disabilities and students requiring prosocial/self-regulatory support
- Awareness of needs for at-risk, ethnically diverse, limited English proficient, and exceptional students
- Familiarity with case management, IEP creation, and compliance with federal/state guidelines
- Training in or willingness to complete Essential Elements of Effective Instruction (E.E.E.I.)
- Ability to reliably commute within 30 minutes of designated school sites
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized, evidence-based instruction and interventions
- Develop, implement, and evaluate IEPs following district and regulatory guidelines
- Foster a positive, structured classroom environment that supports behavioral and academic growth
- Collaborate closely with fellow educators, support staff, and families
- Participate in professional development, including CIE (July 21-24) and all-staff training (beginning July 27)
- Maintain accurate records and monitor student progress throughout the school year
