Key Qualifications:
- Valid LBS1 Professional Educator License (PEL) required
- Experience working in special education or with diverse learning needs, ideally at the junior high level
- Strong background in science instruction and familiarity with co-teaching frameworks
- Effective communicator, able to collaborate with general education staff, students, and support personnel
- Adaptable, creative, and patient approach to differentiated instruction
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and respectful learning environment
Primary Responsibilities:
- Co-teach 7th and 8th grade Science classes alongside a general education teacher
- Provide individualized and small group support to students with special needs
- Collaborate in lesson planning, progress monitoring, and accommodations
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to goal development and implementation
- Foster a positive, supportive classroom culture that encourages growth
- Communicate consistently with parents, staff, and administration to ensure student success
