Special Education Teacher in Providence, RI

Qualifications and Experience:
- Active Rhode Island Department of Education (RIDE) Special Education license appropriate for Early Childhood, Elementary, or Secondary instruction
- Commitment to or completion of Rhode Island Structured Literacy proficiency within one year of hire (Right to Read Act compliance)
- Previous experience supporting elementary students with mild-to-moderate disabilities preferred
- Strong collaboration, communication, and organizational skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specially designed instruction to elementary students, tailoring approaches to individual learning needs
- Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and families to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Support students in accessing the general curriculum and fostering independence within the classroom setting
- Track, assess, and document student progress, adjusting strategies as necessary to ensure growth
- Create a safe, positive, and inclusive classroom environment that nurtures every learner
