Special Education Teacher - Renton, Washington

Positions are available for both elementary and junior high resource teachers in a fully onsite contract role. Opportunities include full-time (37.5 hours per week) and part-time (30 hours per week) schedules depending on your preference and experience. Openings for the full school year include:
- Elementary Resource Teacher (1.0 FTE)
- Junior High Resource Teacher (1.0 FTE)
- Junior High Support Center Teacher (1.0 FTE)
- Elementary Resource Teacher (0.8 FTE)
What we’re looking for:
- Valid Special Education teaching credential
- Previous experience with elementary and/or junior high students in a resource or support role, preferred
- Strong understanding of IEP processes and differentiation strategies
- Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, support staff, and families
- Commitment to building positive relationships with students and creating a welcoming, inclusive learning environment
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
In this role, you will:
- Provide specialized instruction in a resource or support center setting, adapting lessons to individual student needs
- Develop, maintain, and track progress on IEPs
- Collaborate closely with general education teachers and related service providers
- Engage families as partners in their child’s education
- Support social, emotional, and academic growth for students with various learning needs
- Participate in team meetings, ongoing professional learning, and school events
