Make a difference in the lives of students by stepping into a contract Special Education teaching opportunity for the upcoming school year. This assignment begins August 3rd, 2026, and runs through May 21st, 2027, with additional days for pre- and post-planning. Located in a supportive setting near LaFayette, GA, you’ll join two dedicated teams and work directly in an inclusion classroom at the elementary level, serving a caseload of around 8-9 students.
Ideal candidates bring compassion, adaptability, and a commitment to student-centered teaching. The previous teacher in this role transitioned recently, making this a unique chance to continue meaningful programs and provide continuity for students.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid GaPSC Teaching Educator Certification with SPED General Curriculum Endorsement (required)
- Experience in schools as a Special Education Teacher, preferably within an inclusion setting
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
- Dedication to tailoring instruction for diverse learners and adapting to classroom needs
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and support to students within an inclusion classroom
- Collaborate with general educators and support teams to develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Adapt lesson plans and instructional materials to meet students' individual needs
- Track student progress, maintain documentation, and communicate regularly with families and staff
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment
