Special Education Teacher in Ringgold, GA
Make a lasting impact on young learners by supporting elementary students as a Special Education Teacher at an engaging Georgia school. This full-time, contract role runs from late July through May 2027, offering you the opportunity to guide a small caseload of 8–10 students in an inclusive classroom setting. You’ll primarily serve first and second graders, with some kindergarteners, working with children who have autism, developmental delays, speech/language challenges, self-regulation needs, and learning disabilities.
Your experience and compassion will be key in fostering growth and confidence in your students as you collaborate closely with general education staff and support each child's unique learning journey.
Qualifications:
- Active GaPSC Teaching License with P-12 SPED endorsement
- Dyslexia endorsement required
- Experience working with elementary-aged children in special education
- Skilled in managing diverse learning and behavioral needs
- Commitment to creating an inclusive, supportive classroom environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement IEPs tailored to each student’s needs
- Support students’ academic, communication, and social-emotional skills in an inclusive setting
- Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and families
- Supervise toileting support for one student with a toileting goal, no full diapering or regular toileting needed
- Actively engage in pre-planning and ongoing professional development days
