Two exciting Special Education positions are available: one supporting 1st through 6th grade students, and another working in a self-contained classroom for K-3rd grade students with moderate to severe needs.
Begin your experience with a comprehensive orientation in late July, preparing you to start strong as the school year launches in August.
Desired Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification
- Previous experience in elementary Special Education preferred
- Familiarity with IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring
- Strong classroom management skills and ability to adapt to diverse learning needs
- Compassion and patience working with students requiring specialized support
- Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized and small group instruction tailored to students’ learning plans
- Adapt curriculum and materials based on the needs of students with disabilities
- Create and maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment
- Develop, monitor, and update Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Maintain regular communication with families and educational staff
- Participate in ongoing professional development and school-wide initiatives
- Support students’ academic, emotional, and social development in a nurturing setting
- Maintain accurate, timely records as required
