Grades 6 - 8 Math Special Education Teacher | Rockville, Maryland
In this rewarding contract opportunity, you'll make a meaningful impact as a Middle School Math Special Education Teacher for students in grades 6-8. This full-time position runs Monday through Friday from 8:30am to 4:15pm, with compensation provided over a 12-month period. Your responsibilities will include designing and implementing engaging math lessons tailored to the unique learning needs of middle schoolers with diverse abilities. You'll partner closely with other educators and support staff to foster a supportive classroom atmosphere, develop individualized education plans (IEPs), and help students build academic and life skills. This role provides daily opportunities to inspire growth, encourage curiosity, and celebrate progress.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid Maryland Special Education Certification (minimum grades 6–12)
- Maryland Math Certification (grades 6–12 required)
- Candidates eligible for SPED certification who already hold math certification are also encouraged to apply
- Previous experience teaching or supporting students with autism and various learning disabilities preferred
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and encouraging learning environment
