A rewarding opportunity awaits for an experienced Special Education Teacher to support elementary students in an inclusive classroom. This full-time contract position runs from August 3rd, 2026, through May 21st, 2027, with likely extensions for pre- and post-planning days. You’ll collaborate with two supportive teams and teach a manageable caseload of approximately 8 to 9 students, making a significant impact on their educational journey.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid GaPSC Teaching Educator Certification, including a Special Education General Curriculum endorsement
- Demonstrated ability to successfully plan, deliver, and adapt instruction within an inclusive setting
- Experience developing and implementing IEPs for students with varied learning needs
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, particularly when working alongside other educational professionals
- Adaptability and positivity in dynamic classroom environments
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality special education services in an inclusion classroom, supporting both academic and social/emotional growth
- Design, monitor, and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for assigned students
- Collaborate closely with classroom teachers, instructional aides, and related service providers to ensure all student needs are met
- Regularly track and communicate student progress with families and team members
- Cultivate a positive, inclusive environment where each student is supported and valued
