Desired qualifications and background:
- Current teaching license with a Special Education endorsement (or eligibility for Minnesota licensure)
- Experience supporting K-5 students in classroom or resource settings
- Familiarity with developing, implementing, and monitoring IEPs
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with families, colleagues, and related service providers
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive, positive classroom environment
- Ability to adapt instruction to accommodate a variety of learning styles
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Developing lesson plans and instructional strategies tailored for students with mild to moderate disabilities
- Creating and maintaining effective IEPs, including data collection and progress monitoring
- Facilitating small group or individualized instruction in reading, math, and other academic areas
- Collaborating with general education teachers and staff to support inclusive education
- Maintaining regular communication with families regarding student progress
- Participating in team meetings, professional development, and compliance documentation
This contract offers a consistent weekly schedule of 37.5 hours, providing the stability and engagement of a full academic year.
