Exciting opportunities are available for dedicated Special Education Teachers in a school district near Saint Paul, MN for the 2026-2027 school year. These contract roles will work across various center-based and resource settings, including direct FMLA coverage and cross-categorical classrooms emphasizing behavioral support. Qualifications:
- Valid MN Teaching Credential in one or more of the following:
- Autism Spectrum Disorders
- Developmental Disabilities
- Early Childhood Special Education
- Emotional Behavioral Disorders
- Learning Disabilities
- Academic & Behavioral Strategist License (ABS not required, but accepted)
- Demonstrated expertise in behavior management and effective behavior strategies
- Strong instructional skills and a commitment to evidence-based practice
- Excellent attendance record
- Proficient knowledge of designing and implementing behavior plans, classroom structures, and routines
- Ability to work seamlessly with SPED and general education colleagues
- Experience coordinating schedules and collaborating with paraprofessionals
Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instruction and support in resource or center-based classrooms, including for ASD and DCD populations
- Provide FMLA coverage at Eagle Ridge MS (Aug 24 – Nov 9), and serve in center-based ASD and DCD classrooms at various sites
- Assess student needs, develop, and implement IEPs focused on both academic and behavioral goals
- Utilize effective classroom management and behavioral interventions
- Foster productive partnerships with teachers, staff, and families
- Support paraprofessional staff and contribute to a positive, organized learning environment
- Maintain timely and accurate documentation per district and state requirements
