Special Education Teacher - San Francisco, California

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Special Education (or closely related field)
- Valid California teaching credential in Special Education (Mild/Moderate, Moderate/Severe, or ECSE as applicable)
- Experience levels ranging from new graduates to seasoned professionals (all are welcome)
- Commitment to inclusive education and skill in implementing differentiated instructional strategies
- Strong communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills
Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver individualized instruction for students with disabilities in inclusive and specialized settings
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, families, and support staff to foster student growth
- Adapt curriculum and materials to accommodate varying learners’ strengths and challenges
- Maintain accurate records and comply with district, state, and federal regulations
Those with a bachelor’s degree plus additional units or advanced degrees will find ample opportunity for professional growth. Compensation is competitive, reflective of both educational attainment and years of experience—for instance, with increasing rates for those holding master’s degrees and additional credits, along with higher pay for more experienced educators.
