Make an impact supporting students near San Francisco as a Special Education Teacher with a focus on mild to moderate needs. This contract opportunity is located in San Mateo, CA and runs from ASAP through the end of the school year. Full-time positions are available for two caseloads: one covering grades K-2, and another spanning grades K-5th. Supporting engaging, inclusive classrooms, you’ll collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to help students achieve their academic and social potential.
Key Qualifications:
- Current, active California teaching certification in mild/moderate special education
- Previous experience in a school setting with K-2 or K-5th grade students preferred
- Strong understanding of IEP development, implementation, and progress reporting
- Excellent communication, organization, and classroom management skills
- Ability to create a positive and supportive learning environment
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction to students according to IEP goals in either a K-2 or K-5th grade setting
- Assess student needs and collaborate with educational teams to tailor instructional strategies
- Maintain accurate records and progress reports as required by federal, state, and local guidelines
- Foster an inclusive, respectful classroom atmosphere that promotes student growth
- Communicate regularly with parents, caregivers, and staff to facilitate student success
