Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification/license (or eligibility) in Arizona
- Previous experience working with elementary-grade children, preferably in a resource or special education capacity
- Strong understanding of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills with students, families, and staff
- Proven ability to adapt curriculum and instructional methods to meet diverse learner needs
- Organizational skills for managing caseloads, documentation, and classroom planning
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction, academic support, and positive behavior interventions to K-5 students in a resource classroom
- Develop, review, and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Collaborate effectively with general education teachers, specialists, and parents to ensure students' needs are met
- Assess and document student progress, adjusting strategies as needed for optimal learning outcomes
- Foster a supportive, inclusive, and structured classroom environment
- Utilize evidence-based teaching strategies and accommodations to support various learning differences
