Position Overview
ProCare Therapy is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Special Education Teacher to join an Elementary Intensive Support Program near Sandusky, MI for the 2026–2027 school year. This full-time, onsite opportunity is ideal for an educator who is passionate about supporting students with diverse learning needs through individualized instruction, evidence-based teaching strategies, and a collaborative team approach. The selected candidate will work closely with students, families, and school staff to promote academic, behavioral, and social-emotional success.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver individualized instruction aligned with each student's Individualized Education Program (IEP)
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs while participating in IEP meetings
- Create and maintain a safe, structured, and positive classroom environment
- Supervise and collaborate with classroom paraprofessionals to support student success
- Work closely with families, general education teachers, administrators, and related service providers
- Support students' academic, behavioral, developmental, and functional skill development
- Utilize evidence-based instructional and behavioral intervention strategies
- Provide in-person and virtual instruction as needed
- Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with state and federal special education regulations
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or a related degree specifically focused on teaching students with special needs required
- Valid Michigan Special Education (SPED) Teaching Certification required

Endorsement in one of the following areas required:
- Cognitive Impairment (CI)
- Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
- Emotional Impairment (EI)
- Experience developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) preferred
- Experience working with elementary students in a special education setting preferred
- Strong communication, collaboration, classroom management, and organizational skills
