This contract opportunity is ideal for motivated Special Education Teachers passionate about making a direct impact on a manageable caseload of up to 12 students. You'll be part of a collaborative team, including three classroom paraprofessionals and fellow Special Education educators across three other Special Day classes on campus.
Position details:
- Support and instruct a caseload of 10–12 students with moderate to severe needs
- Work alongside three dedicated paraprofessionals in the classroom
- Engage with other Special Day teachers in a supportive and resource-rich environment
- Coverage is needed as soon as possible for a leave, with potential for short-term or remainder-of-year placement based on availability and licensure
Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education credential, Moderate/Severe required for full duration; Mild/Moderate may be considered for short-term coverage
- Experience teaching in special education or a comparable setting preferred
- Demonstrated skill in developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Collaborative approach to working with paraeducators, related service providers, and families
- Strong communication, organizational, and classroom management abilities
Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality, individualized instruction tailored to students’ unique learning goals
- Maintain accurate student records and ongoing IEP documentation
- Coordinate with classroom paraprofessionals and other staff to strengthen student engagement and progress
- Utilize adaptive curriculum and behavioral strategies in a structured, supportive environment
- Foster an inclusive classroom culture that celebrates achievement and positive relationships
