A contract opportunity is available for a skilled Special Education Teacher to support integrated and self-contained preschool classrooms serving children ages 3-5. Qualifications:
- Valid NYS Certification in Special Education or Students with Disabilities Birth to Grade 2 (required)
- Individuals currently pursuing certification in Special Education Birth-Grade 2 may be considered for a Substitute Special Education Teacher role
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with multidisciplinary teams, children, and families
- Experience implementing individualized education programs (IEPs) and using differentiated instructional strategies
- Passion for working with preschool-aged children in both integrated and self-contained classroom settings
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver engaging instruction tailored to a diverse group of preschoolers with a range of needs
- Implement IEPs and adjust teaching methods to maximize student participation and progress
- Collaborate closely with other educators, therapists, and support staff within an inclusive classroom environment
- Foster a classroom atmosphere that nurtures social, emotional, and cognitive development
- Maintain appropriate documentation and communication with families regarding student progress
