Special Education Teacher | Schenectady, New York

You will provide vital assessment and evaluation services, deliver direct instruction, and participate actively in IEP meetings—making a meaningful difference in the lives of your students. Qualifications & Experience Desired:
- Valid New York State Teaching Certificate in Special Education
- Experience working with diverse learners, particularly those requiring individualized education plans
- Strong understanding of assessment tools and the IEP process
- Excellent communication, organization, and collaboration skills
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive, student-centered environment
- Fingerprinting clearance required prior to start
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct specialized assessments and develop targeted instructional plans
- Deliver engaging, differentiated instruction for students on your caseload
- Attend and contribute to IEP meetings and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
- Track and report student progress, adjusting strategies as needed
- Communicate regularly with families and staff for student success
- Provide input on program development and student transitions
