Key Details:
- Four openings available, with grade level preferences considered
- Full-time schedule: 40 hours per week
- Student hours: 7:30am–2:30pm; teachers arrive 15 minutes before start
- Contract dates: July 20 – December 18, with possible extension if it’s a strong match
- W2 contract arrangement
Preferred Qualifications:
- Active Arizona Special Education Teaching Certification (or eligibility to obtain)
- Prior experience in self-contained or EBD classroom settings
- Confidence and experience integrating quickly into existing programs
- Ability to set structure for high-needs students and collaborate with support staff
- Strong classroom management skills, especially in high-needs contexts
- Willingness and comfort in supervising paraprofessional team members
Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead a self-contained classroom (grades K–8), managing a caseload typically capped at 15–20 students
- Deliver high-quality, individualized instruction to each student’s needs
- Develop, implement, and update IEPs in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
- Supervise and collaborate with paraprofessionals to ensure supportive learning environments for all students
- Help maintain a positive, structured environment, supporting emotional and behavioral growth
