Special Education Teacher | Selby, South Dakota

You will engage with a diverse group of learners, including those with cognitive impairments, autism, learning disabilities, emotional disabilities, and other health-related needs.
You’ll play a crucial role in supporting student growth by crafting individualized education plans (IEPs), collaborating with families and staff, and fostering an inclusive classroom atmosphere. With the school week running Monday through Thursday from 7:45 AM to 4:00 PM, you can look forward to long weekends, allowing for professional balance between meaningful work and personal pursuits. The contract extends from August 18th, 2026, through May 20th, 2027.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education teaching license/certification, or eligible for certification
- Prior experience (preferred) teaching students in K-12 or similar multi-grade settings
- Skill in developing, implementing, and tracking IEPs
- Strong ability to adapt teaching methods for students with various exceptionalities, including cognitive, emotional, and health-related needs
- Collaborative and communicative approach with students, staff, and families
- Willingness to work in-person (remote/voco services not considered)
