Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification or licensure
- Prior experience in a special education classroom preferred
- Comprehensive understanding of IEP development, implementation, and compliance
- Strong skills creating differentiated lesson plans tailored to student abilities
- Ability to work collaboratively with general education staff, related service providers, and families
- Patience, adaptability, and a commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver lesson plans tailored to meet the unique needs of students receiving special education services
- Administer standardized and informal assessments and monitor student progress
- Write, review, and implement IEPs in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team
- Work with students in small groups to provide targeted support and instruction
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation as required by local and federal guidelines
- Foster positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues; participate in IEP meetings and parent conferences
- Adapt teaching methods and materials to fit varying learning styles and abilities
