Qualifications & Requirements:
- Active 461 Tennessee Special Education teaching license.
- Experience working with young children in a special education setting, ideally in self-contained classrooms.
- Strong understanding of individualized education plans (IEPs) and ability to differentiate instruction.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Compassion, patience, and the ability to build trusting relationships with students and their families.
- Commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instruction to K-2nd grade students in a self-contained classroom, adapting curriculum to meet individual needs.
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs in partnership with families and other educators.
- Use a variety of teaching strategies to encourage student engagement and promote growth.
- Track student progress and maintain accurate records in compliance with state regulations.
- Communicate regularly with parents, support staff, and administrative teams regarding student progress and needs.
- Participate in professional development and school-based meetings.
