This full-time position is set at 32.5 hours per week with a schedule of 7:25 AM to 2:10 PM and early release on Wednesdays at 1:10 PM. You'll work closely with a collaborative team to help students build crucial academic, social-emotional, and life skills.
Ideal candidates will bring:
- Current certification in Special Education or eligibility in Maine
- Previous experience with life skills and/or behavioral support programs (strongly preferred)
- Expertise in designing and implementing individualized education programs (IEPs)
- Strong communication abilities to foster productive partnerships with families and staff
- Comfort with both in-person and virtual instructional delivery
- For virtual roles: 1099 contractor status and personal liability insurance
Responsibilities include:
- Creating and adapting lessons tailored to students with diverse abilities
- Managing classroom routines and providing positive, proactive behavioral support
- Collaborating with general education teachers and specialists to ensure best outcomes
- Maintaining required documentation and progress monitoring as per IEPs and regulations
- Engaging in ongoing professional development and contributing ideas for program growth
For on-site W2 contractors, a comprehensive benefits package will be provided. Candidates working on-site can expect pay ranging from $34 to $38 per hour, depending on experience. Virtual contractors will operate as 1099 and must secure proper insurance.
