Special Education Teacher | Stevensville, Maryland

A full-time contract position is available for a Special Education Teacher to support high school students beginning at the start of the 2026-2027 school year. You’ll play a vital role in designing and delivering individualized instruction, helping students achieve their academic and personal goals in a supportive environment.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid certification as a Special Education Teacher
- Experience working with high school-aged students preferred
- Strong understanding of IEP development and the ability to adapt teaching to a variety of learning environments
- Ability to collaborate with general education teachers and other support staff
- Effective communication skills with students, families, and colleagues
Primary Responsibilities:
- Serve a caseload of approximately 10 high school students, tailoring educational strategies to individual needs
- Provide instruction both within the general education classroom and in specialized settings, depending on student objectives
- Develop and implement IEPs, monitoring progress and adjusting plans as needed
- Partner with classroom teachers to modify curriculum and create inclusive learning experiences
- Maintain regular communication with families regarding student progress and ongoing goals
- Track student performance, behavior, and progress in compliance with district and state regulations
