Special Education Teacher in Strongsville, OH

You will work exclusively in one building throughout the year, assigned to either a middle or primary school setting. Two specialized caseloads are available: one classroom supports students with multiple disabilities, including autism, physical impairments, and non-verbal learners (serving 9-12 students); the other is designed for students with emotional disabilities, providing social-emotional instruction, behavioral intervention, and crisis support (serving 10-15 students). Collaboration with committed colleagues and access to resources ensure you have the tools to make a lasting impact.
Qualifications:
- Valid licensure as a Special Education Teacher
- Experience working with students with multiple disabilities, autism, non-verbal or physical impairments, OR experience with students with emotional/behavioral needs
- Familiarity with behavior intervention plans (BIPs), social-emotional curricula, and crisis management techniques (especially for ED classrooms)
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive learning environment
Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and group instruction tailored to each student’s unique needs
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs in alignment with state and federal guidelines
- Collaborate with related service providers, general educators, and families
- Support students in developing social, emotional, and academic skills
- Maintain accurate documentation and participate in team meetings as required
