Make a real difference supporting students with significant needs as a Special Education Teacher for an Extended School Year opportunity in the Sunnyvale, CA area. This full-time contract assignment runs from October 5, 2026, through the end of the school year, offering a meaningful chance to guide and inspire learners in an ESN SDC setting.
In this role, you'll collaborate closely with support staff and other educators to create a nurturing classroom environment, delivering individualized and small-group instruction tailored to students with moderate to severe needs. Qualifications & Credentials:
- Active California CTC licensure in moderate/severe special education required
- Experience working in ESN SDC classrooms strongly preferred
- Previous work in public school settings a plus
- Strong understanding of IEPs, goal-setting, and behavior intervention strategies
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive environment for all students
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized instruction focused on academic, behavioral, and life skills
- Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with all relevant regulations
- Lead and participate in IEP meetings, working as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Communicate regularly with families and caregivers regarding student progress
- Utilize adaptive technology and differentiated teaching materials
