Seeking a passionate Special Education Teacher to make a difference in the lives of middle school students through the GNETS (Georgia Network for Educational and Therapeutic Supports) program. Positioned within a supportive educational environment, you will work with students who require intensive behavioral, social-emotional, and academic interventions, utilizing your expertise to foster meaningful growth and success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized instruction and differentiated lessons across core academic areas (Reading, Math, Science, Language Arts, Social Studies)
- Design, implement, and monitor IEP goals and accommodations tailored to each student’s needs
- Apply effective behavioral interventions and positive behavior supports
- Collaborate with administrators, related service providers, families, and support staff for comprehensive support
- Maintain thorough compliance documentation and track progress toward student goals
- Establish and maintain a structured, safe, and supportive classroom environment
Required Experience & Qualifications:
- Valid Georgia Special Education General Curriculum Certification
- Certification in all core academic areas for the specified grade bands
- Demonstrated experience with writing and implementing IEPs
- Proficiency with behavior intervention strategies and strong classroom management
- Must have 3 professional reference checks completed (including one recent supervisor)
Preferred Experience:
- Familiarity with GNETS or alternative education settings
- Background in supporting students with emotional and behavioral disorders
- Training in CPI, de-escalation, or behavior management
