Special Education Teacher in Taunton, MA
Passionate educators seeking an opportunity to support diverse learners are invited to apply for multiple contract positions available for special education teachers for the full 26/27 school year. Opportunities include both K-12 Inclusion and Sub Separate classrooms, with a particular need for Sub Separate teachers focusing on Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Social Emotional Learning (SEL).
As part of a collaborative team, you'll work closely with 2-3 dedicated paraprofessionals and receive ongoing support from experienced supervisors, Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs), and social workers. This environment is designed to help you make a meaningful impact on student growth and well-being.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid certification as a Special Education Teacher (appropriate for K-12)
- Experience or strong interest in inclusion and/or Sub Separate settings
- Expertise or familiarity with ASD and/or social-emotional learning is highly valued
- Ability to collaborate effectively with paraprofessionals and multidisciplinary support staff
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive, positive classroom atmosphere
Role Responsibilities:
- Create and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's needs
- Provide specialized instruction to ensure academic and social success
- Partner with paraprofessionals, supervisors, BCBAs, and social workers to deliver comprehensive student support
- Utilize evidence-based interventions for ASD and social-emotional development
- Track student progress and maintain thorough documentation
- Engage in ongoing professional development and team meetings
