Special Education Teacher Work From Home | Washington
An opportunity is available for a Washington-certified Special Education Teacher to support a K-8 online Alternative Learning Experience (ALE) program. The role focuses on maintaining Individualized Education Program (IEP) compliance for students attending virtually.
Responsibilities include monitoring and tracking IEPs and associated goals for a caseload of approximately 25 to 30 students. These students receive various special education services remotely and do not attend onsite instruction. Direct teaching or student instruction is not required in this position.
Key qualifications and expectations:
- Valid Washington State Special Education teaching certification
- Experience with K-8 special education, particularly in remote or virtual settings
- Strong knowledge of IEP development, compliance, and monitoring processes
- Familiarity with a range of student needs, including speech, health impairments, and learning disabilities
- Ability to manage scheduling flexibly in coordination with parents and school hours (Monday through Friday)
- Excellent organizational skills to handle documentation and caseload tracking
This contract position aligns with the 2026/2027 school year, with working hours primarily during traditional school hours but allowing flexibility to accommodate families’ scheduling needs. The role supports a home-based, online instructional model and focuses solely on compliance and goal tracking for students enrolled in the ALE program.
