Assignments are available at a supportive district, where you'll specialize in either a learning specialist or affective needs position—each site focused on fostering student success through individualization and professional collaboration.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Colorado Department of Education Teacher license, with a Special Education Generalist (5-21) endorsement
- Experience working with students who have mild to moderate or more severe emotional and behavioral disabilities (dependent on the assignment)
- Proven ability with strategies such as CPI, de-escalation, ABA principles, or similar behavioral supports is highly valued
- Direct experience with autism, and FBA and BIP development preferred
- Background in special education math instruction is a plus
- Excellent interpersonal skills to collaborate with paraprofessionals and support services teams
Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized and small-group instruction tailored to student IEPs
- Lead or participate in school teams managing behavioral supports and instruction
- Contribute to developing, implementing, and monitoring FBAs/BIPs as appropriate
- Collaborate thoughtfully with other special services (speech, therapy, psychology)
- Maintain accurate documentation and meet all time-sensitive credentialing requirements
