Key Qualifications:
- Active, valid Tennessee Educator License (via TNCompass) is mandatory
- Eligible license tiers: Practitioner (initial 3-year standard or alternative/job-embedded pathway) or Professional (standard 6-year advanced)
- Possess at least one TDOE Special Education endorsement, such as:
- Special Education Interventionist (K-8) or (6-12), addressing mild-to-moderate disabilities
- Special Education Comprehensive (K-12), supporting students with severe/profound/multiple disabilities
- Special Education Early Childhood (Pre-K-3), focused on early intervention
- Comfortable providing specialized instruction, including for students learning Braille
Core Responsibilities:
- Provide designated direct and indirect instructional minutes, following student IEPs and educational plans
- Adapt instruction to meet the unique needs of students with a variety of learning profiles
- Collaborate with general education staff and families to support student progress
- Maintain accurate service documentation and adhere to school procedures
- Participate in relevant faculty meetings and professional development as required
