The position is focused on providing both direct and indirect instructional minutes—case management is not required, allowing you to concentrate on student growth and tailored intervention.
Key Qualifications:
- Hold a valid, active Tennessee Educator License via TNCompass
- Acceptable license types: Practitioner (3-year standard or job-embedded), or Professional (6-year advanced)
- Must have at least one current TDOE Special Education endorsement:
- Special Education Interventionist (K–8) or (6–12)
- Special Education Comprehensive (K–12)
- Special Education Early Childhood (Pre-K–3)
- Experienced in providing individualized and group special education services
- Well-versed in supporting students across a spectrum of abilities
Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct and indirect instructional support to a carefully managed caseload
- Adapt lessons and materials to meet unique student learning plans
- Work collaboratively with general education staff, related service providers, and families
- Implement interventions for students with mild-to-moderate disabilities and those requiring more intensive assistance
- Maintain documentation in compliance with school and state requirements
- Assist in the progress and inclusion of a student studying Braille
