Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Active special education teacher certification required
- Additional PreK endorsement for PreK Special Education position
- ELA certification (grades 7-12) for English Language Arts Special Education position
- Science certification for Science Special Education role
- Experience adapting curriculum and instructional methods for diverse learning needs
- Strong communication skills and commitment to collaboration with families and colleagues
- Previous experience in schools or with students with disabilities preferred
Responsibilities & Key Duties:
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to each student’s strengths and needs
- Adapt general education lessons and materials to support comprehension and participation
- Foster a positive, inclusive classroom where all students feel valued and encouraged to reach their potential
- Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, and support staff to enhance learning outcomes
- Monitor student progress, maintain detailed records, and communicate updates to families and the educational team
- Participate in professional development and training as needed
- Promote social-emotional skills and self-advocacy among students
