Special Education Teacher – Self-Contained Classroom

Position Summary
Multiple openings for Special Education Teachers in elementary self-contained classrooms serving students with severe needs. Positions include behavior units and emotional disabilities units. A middle school assignment may also be available.
Essential Responsibilities
- Provide instruction and support in a self-contained special education classroom for students with significant behavioral and/or emotional disabilities.
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) aligned with student goals.
- Deliver evidence-based academic and behavioral interventions.
- Manage classroom environment, implement behavior support plans, and maintain student safety.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and families.
- Collect and analyze data to monitor student progress and adjust instruction as needed.
- Maintain accurate records and complete required documentation in compliance with state and federal regulations.
Qualifications
- Experience in both Special Education and General Education.
- Valid teaching certification appropriate for the position (special education endorsement preferred).
- Experience working with students who have severe behavioral and/or emotional needs preferred.
- Ability to implement behavior management strategies and support students in self-contained settings.
