Key Qualifications:
- Valid Delaware Special Education Teaching certification (must be obtained prior to the school year’s start)
- Experience teaching English at the secondary level, preferably in both co-taught and small group settings
- Comfort working with, or willingness to learn, the Infinite IEP program
- Strong communication skills for collaborating with general education teachers, support staff, and families
- Ability to manage and motivate diverse learners while maintaining a positive classroom atmosphere
Role Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging English lessons for 8th and 12th-grade students in accordance with each student’s IEP
- Teach two co-taught classes and two small group classes, adapting instructional strategies to meet a range of learning needs
- Maintain detailed documentation and utilize Infinite IEP for progress monitoring and compliance
- Prepare instructional materials and oversee students’ academic and behavioral progress
- Communicate regularly with families, counselors, and related service providers to ensure cohesive support for all students
- Participate in professional development and school-wide initiatives as required
