As a GNETS special education teacher working with the Georgia Network for Educational and Therapeutic Supports at a local middle school, you’ll partner with leaders and colleagues who bring diverse perspectives to special education, behavior management, and inclusive teaching approaches. You’ll develop new insight into individualized instruction, multi-disciplinary collaboration, and evidence-based behavioral intervention—expanding your skill set and enhancing your resume for future growth.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Georgia Special Education General Curriculum Certification
  • Certification across all academic content areas (Reading, Math, Science, Language Arts, Social Studies)
  • Experience with IEP development and implementation
  • Strong classroom management skills, especially for behavioral support
  • Ability to provide professional references, including a recent supervisor

Preferred Experience:

  • Previous experience in GNETS or alternative educational settings
  • Familiarity working with students with significant behavioral and emotional needs
  • CPI, de-escalation, or behavior management training

Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialized instruction to middle school students in the GNETS program
  • Develop and adapt IEPs, monitor progress, and maintain documentation
  • Implement positive behavior interventions
  • Collaborate with families, other educators, and related service providers
  • Create a safe, structured, and supportive environment
