Qualifications:
- Valid Alabama Special Education Certification or eligibility for reciprocity (process takes approx. 6 weeks)
- Experience working with elementary (grades 3-6) students in a self-contained setting
- Comfortable collaborating with classroom aides
- Strong communication and classroom management skills
- Willingness to move quickly in the application process
Responsibilities:
- Work full-time, onsite providing instruction and support to self-contained caseload (5-6 students, with possible referrals throughout the year)
- Collaborate with 1-2 classroom aides to deliver individualized support
- Create a safe and engaging classroom environment for learners with unique needs
- Monitor student growth and maintain accurate documentation
