Your expertise in Special Education can make a meaningful impact in a classroom setting supporting 4th and 5th grade students. This contract-based position offers the opportunity to engage with a dedicated group of 8-10 students in a supportive educational environment. You’ll be working full-time, 35 hours per week, from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday through Friday. This assignment runs from August 14 through the end of September with the possibility of extension, primarily covering FMLA needs.
Key Qualifications:
- Active LBS1 and PEL credentials required (please provide a screenshot of your license attached as a blank page at the end of your resume)
- Strong capability to deliver both push-in and pull-out instruction for ELA and Math
- Previous experience working as a Special Education Teacher in elementary grade levels preferred
- Ability to foster a positive, inclusive, and structured learning environment
- Skilled in collaborating with grade-level teams and support staff to ensure student success
- Must be available for onsite interviews
Job Responsibilities:
- Instruct, support, and monitor student progress in ELA and Math using push-in and pull-out instructional models
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with fellow educators and family members
- Adapt curriculum and teaching strategies to address various student needs and abilities
- Document student growth and provide regular updates to parents and team members
- Maintain a safe, respectful, and organized classroom environment
