Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid LBS1 (Learning Behavior Specialist 1) certification is required
- Experience working in special education settings, preferably in self-contained classrooms
- Background with elementary and/or middle school grade levels strongly preferred
- Ability to develop and implement IEPs in accordance with state and federal regulations
- Strong communication skills for interacting with students, families, and staff
Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and small group instruction in two self-contained classrooms, focusing on students’ unique learning needs
- Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and support staff to foster a positive learning environment
- Develop and monitor IEP goals, documenting progress and adapting instructional strategies as needed
- Implement behavior management plans and promote positive student engagement
- Maintain accurate and timely records as required by school and district guidelines
- Participate in team meetings, parent conferences, and professional development
