This position covers a leave of absence from August 20 to October 30, 2026, with work hours Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM. You'll be an integral part of a supportive team, guiding preschool-aged children during both morning and afternoon class sessions.
Qualifications & Experience Sought:
- Current CDE Early Childhood Special Educator (ECSE) license is required
- Previous experience as a lead teacher in early childhood special education classrooms
- Ability to serve as case manager for students receiving ECSE services
- Comfortable collaborating with multiple professionals including paraprofessionals, occupational therapists, and speech-language pathologists
- Committed to fostering an inclusive, positive, and engaging classroom environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead both AM and PM preschool sessions (up to 18 students each) with the support of two paraprofessionals
- Provide direct instruction and individualized support to a maximum of 10 students requiring ECSE services
- Manage student case files, develop and implement IEPs, and maintain open communication with families and care teams
- Collaborate with OT and SLP professionals who work alongside you within the classroom
- Maintain effective classroom management and support the developmental progress of all students
