This full-time, onsite role spans from August 20th to October 30th, providing coverage for a leave of absence. With a supportive classroom structure—including two paraprofessionals and collaborative services from OT and SLP professionals—this position offers the chance to shape early learning experiences for preschoolers requiring specialized instruction and care.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Active CDE Early Childhood Special Educator (ECSE) license is required
- Prior experience as a lead teacher in preschool special education settings preferred
- Strong collaboration and leadership skills for managing classroom staff and coordinating services
- Expertise in developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Effective communication with families and multidisciplinary teams
- Demonstrated ability to foster a nurturing, inclusive classroom environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead engaging AM and PM preschool sessions with up to 18 students per session
- Serve as service provider and case manager for up to 10 students receiving ECSE services
- Collaborate with paraprofessionals, occupational therapists, and speech-language pathologists to deliver comprehensive support
- Plan and deliver developmentally appropriate, differentiated instruction
- Maintain required documentation and communicate student progress to families and team members
- Support student learning, social-emotional growth, and independence
