Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification (required)
- Experience working with elementary-aged students in a classroom or resource setting
- Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation
- Familiarity with differentiated instruction and data-driven teaching strategies
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, working well with teachers, support staff, and families
- Passion for supporting students with a range of special needs
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for students in collaboration with parents, staff, and support services
- Adapt lessons and teaching materials to meet diverse learning styles and unique needs
- Foster a nurturing, inclusive classroom environment where every student feels valued
- Monitor student progress and adjust instruction as needed, maintaining accurate documentation
- Participate in team meetings and collaborate with general education teachers to support student success
- Communicate effectively with families to provide updates on student progress and strategies for continued growth
