In this role, you’ll be responsible for a caseload of eight students, all at the elementary level, with the daily support of two dedicated paraprofessionals. Collaboration, adaptability, and a passion for student success are essential, as you’ll design and implement individualized interventions and adaptive curriculum to meet each child’s unique needs.
Desired Qualifications:
- Valid state teaching certification in Special Education
- Adaptive curriculum certificate required
- Experience working with K-5 students in a self-contained environment preferred
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Ability to collaborate with paras and multidisciplinary teams
- Commitment to fostering a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student’s goals and abilities
- Deliver differentiated instruction using an adaptive curriculum
- Monitor, document, and report student progress
- Work closely with paraprofessionals and related services staff to ensure consistency and support
- Engage with parents and guardians to communicate students’ achievements and needs
- Foster a positive classroom culture that promotes respect, confidence, and learning
