Key Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education required
- Valid Illinois teaching license with LBS1 endorsement
- Previous experience in school settings is a plus, though not mandatory
- Passion for supporting students with significant needs
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized instruction tailored to students’ academic, social, and functional goals
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Collaborate with other educators, therapists, and support staff to support each student’s comprehensive needs
- Adapt curriculum and teaching strategies to ensure accessibility for all students
- Maintain thorough documentation of student progress and communicate regularly with families
- Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and school activities as an engaged team member
