Special Education Teacher - Cambridge, Massachusetts

Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Active Massachusetts teaching license in severe disabilities (required)
- Experience with PreK/K students or early childhood populations preferred
- Familiarity working with non-verbal students and implementing AAC (augmentative and alternative communication) devices
- Strong understanding of individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavior intervention strategies
- Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including therapists and support staff
- Patience, creativity, and excellent communication skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement individualized lesson plans aligned with intensive needs
- Engage students in daily learning using adaptive technology and communication systems
- Track and assess student progress, making data-driven adjustments as needed
- Collaborate with families, administrators, and staff to foster student success
- Maintain a safe, inclusive, and structured classroom environment
- Complete necessary documentation for compliance and reporting
