Key Qualifications:
- Valid New Jersey Special Education teaching license strongly preferred
- Previous experience in resource or self-contained classrooms, especially with 1st grade, is a plus
- Familiarity with developing and implementing IEPs
- Ability to adapt instruction and materials to individual student needs
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Comfortable working onsite and participating in virtual interviews (Zoom)
Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and small group instruction within a 1st grade classroom
- Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and families
- Support students’ academic, behavioral, and social-emotional development
- Collect data and monitor progress toward IEP goals
- Foster an inclusive, supportive learning atmosphere for all students
- Participate in IEP meetings, planning sessions, and district trainings as needed
